end of a chapter. starting of a new chapter. Yesterday ended my secondary school chapter of chess. A CCA that i chose in secondary one, when i was complete noob and was a complete free frag who can be thrashed easily. It wasnt a good ending at all, a bad end to a chapter, but it's all written down. Nothing can be changed now, its all there in the ending of the chapter. Time to surmarise the chapter entitled -My secondary school chess life-
I gotta say this, the people that turned out to who they are now in chess cca from acs br and are brought up and not imported talents from youth. it was like the together spirit. this is are just the main summaries of everything

2001 Secondary One

Complete patzer, came into the club and had some good seniors. i mean i still can remember eugene ang, justin khoon ian gan gabriel pang. they were like the best of the sch and taught me well. I was selected as one of the 3 sec1s to be part of a exercise to choose the school's team for intersch. chirstorpher teo carleton and me were those 3. marcus bryan cheong jonathan tan and dunno which other sec 2 were the others. i didnt qualify becaz my attitude kinda sux den and i was like also veri noob. first year no competitions at all

2002 Secondary Two

I remembered justin khoong giving the lower sec sum kinda of inspirational talk b4 individuals saying that if we can get 4.5/9 and qualify for junior squad which will lead to rep sg or even haf a gd chess start. i was veri encouraged and inspired by that speech and i can still rmeember where it was said. it was if onli u get into junior squad den u can succeed or start in chess, i wanted to get that 4.5 pts. Joined individuals, first round won on walk over den 2nd round drew wif zhong min. i remembered clearly that i was unrated and was like sure lose to him that kind of stuff. i still haf that game recorded. third round i tink i lost to ravindran, nt sure though cant remember. 1.5/3 first dae. second dae won 1 onli i tink i lost to hee li heng, nt sure. and lost to a juying guy when i was a minor up. 2.5/6. i remembered third day when i went together wif ian gan and jason to the sch to play(it was held sumwherei nthe west) ian was like saying its veri hard for me, i agreed it was hard too. i palyed agianst my old sch mate in round 7 drew den won roy lau in like 7-8 moves in round 8 4/8. last round i lost to a RIan, i dunno who izzit, i remembered walking out to the toilet while the game in progress, zhong min was like asking me wad;s ur score, i jusst whispered ri are fuckers i tink. i lost the game. 4/9. there goes the junior squad which was on my mind an important stuff.
Went for national team, had a rating of around 1562 at that time. once agian missed on half a match point/half a game pt on getting a prize. rememberedd winning sum sji person, drawing bryan hooi and losing to ben lee. after 2nd roudn loss to ben lee, i wasnt suppose to play 3rd round budden i just did and drew bryan hooi. i was winning but i let a perpetual check, i didnt claim a flag drop too. in the end lost to forogt his name lee sumthign from acsi who has since left to germany, yar lee choon keat last round. den we missed on getting a prize. kinda sad.
Singapore schools internet chess carnival was held for the first time i qualified for finals being 2nd in my room, i think jason goh was first in my room. had 5/6 qualifying score. 10 finalist i got tied 8th but ended up 10th. rmemered beating juin siong at the rivervale primart sch, got to know weiwen and junior tay dere. i got presented wif the prize in sch :P kinda great

still remembered joining the first outside sch tourney at scf for labour's day rapid, met wei cheng and sum others dere i tink. i got 3.5/7 got my rating to 1512 to 1562(started wif 1512). i got a merit prize for my cat, kinda happy. also i beat nick aplin :P i was losing but he didnt see a nice back rank mate. i also won michael dunno who who was 17++. first match was against khor shihong and i lost. played in queenstown and met joshua and kia hua which i both drew. played in several mroe tourneys too.

2003 Secondary Three

by far my best year at chess. started not so gd wif missing out on a prize at indiv. dere were 23 prizes i got 28th. i had 6.0/9.0 though. i thought i made it. i remembered seeing or knowing jason chan by word of mouth by asking him whether wanna play soccer or sumthign like tat. that was in at dunno wad poly. i remembered seeing xiuhuan jumping around going up on stage getting a prize too. ah i rememred knew her becaz myron same junior squad wif her in 2002 and like knew her first time at queenstown tourney i tink. and so i missed on a medal and indivs. worst to come in interclub i kinda damn pissed maybe becaz i wasnt int he first team that got 5th(they had 5 prizes last year). first team was cow myron marcus jonathan and weilong. i got pushed into 2nd team. there was this qualifier of me myron marcus and bryan conducted, 5 mins a side which was bs and i was kinda sad alreadi becaz of sum stuff tat happeened regarding chess politics etc. so my 2nd team suxed i tink we got 20+. i got 1.5/5 which sux too. these are the onli 2 bad thigns in chess in sec 3 i tink, i mean the realli bad things. got vice pres position for 2004

SSICC 2nd year, qualified again. I still remembered going to cine and playing der,e kinda knew jason chan and justin chang dere more a little. there were like 12 finalist 5 get medals i got 7th.. kinda sad. remembered being pissed becaz myron didnt qualify and still went becaz he on gd terms wif junior tay and somehow got 2nd. at least i qualified for SSICC twice in a row.

then came national age grp 2003, i joined u15 just for fun i mean i wanted to join for exp and fun onli. didnt know it was actually the booster of who i am now. let me list down my 9 roudns oppoennet. Loses to nat ong(knew him like formally) and ben lee, draws wif weilong justin chang(pre arranged) and weixing. won solomon joshua ravindran and cant remember now. first game i was 9th seed i tink played against wei xing, who was first seed, drew wif white. kinda unexpected. den last game against solomon , i won when in a crap position though material even he had all the space till he blundered. to think of it, THIS was actually the game which made me here, who i am for chess. Qualified to rep sg in asean, still remembered asking sch to sponsor me but not successfuly, still went brunei in december during chirstmas and getting 4.5/9. missing out on solfkoff for team silver, but not tat disappointed as i didnt realli deserve it. won wei wen justin 2 bruneians and drew a malaysian dere. i kinda knew let's see gonna be a long list, liz xiuhuan justin weiwen jason chan peter chan tim wee kyne bradon(we slpt on the same bed) amy angelique(for being pissed at me becaz i did sum stupid stuff) angelique's bro may hui. i still knew alot of other pple budden not tat close. remembered coming back from brunei and meeting my parents at sg international airport. fetched may hui home too(my dad knows her)

somehow i got my chronoligical order wrong, i sumhow managed to qualify to rep sg vs malayisia also, the sinmas challenge. was becaz of the 4th i got in nag and also the game i won solomon. i lost my first gme in boys u18 3rd board and got taken out for 2nd game the following dae. budden clement chew nv come den i palyed in boys u20 2nd board next to goh wei ming but lost to a malayisan SEA gamer.
this was kinda it for 2003

2004 Secondary Four(This year)

though this year is not completed yet, i am just gonna blog it down. not like there's any sch's tourney i am gonna join or that i will join any outside tourney b4 os end which is in mid november. onli for nat blitz i tink.

individuals kinda lucky to get prize, 23 prizes i got 23rd wif 6.0/9.0. me and andrew choy agreed draw last roudn, must thank him, i had white but not confident in winning, and took the risk of a draw too becaz my solkoff was low and i scared i couldnt make it. bryan hooi got 24th and i remembered him saying to me like how lucky i was :P

i reall ididnt do my job as vice pres veri well come to think of it, budden i tink i did more den others. but comparing myself to myself, i tink i wasted the opportunities to bring the club further etc. just didnt do it. also i tink its the end of acs br club le. not veri promisiing. wei long due the new teacher's noobness and sum politics going on didnt even get a single position. not pres not vp not commitee etc. clement got pres and bryan got vp. they all cant play chess for nuts. worst thing is the elections were held first week of sch reopen in july and me myron cow not around. the stupid screwed teacher just hold without us and decided the committee. i realli feel like i let wei long down as a fren. sorri.

nat team happened yesterdae, view yesterdae's post for here. i am crossing my fingers that my this yr performance at nag in boys open where i got 6th i tink would get me a place in sinmas. doubt so chances are 5% or less.

and yea still gotta add i kinda got 2 meis to accomapny me this whole year liz and xiuhuan thank you veri much. knew gd frenz like jason chan justin chang and brandy etc. myron nicole and a lot more. liu yang gab tim wee and all those on my msn nicks. too long to type out. every sat if not alternate sat me myron jason justin liz xiuhuan weilong wei cheng would go play soccer or bowl, still going on and remembering. however xiuhuan got nat traning den sat nights not free, so its slowly disintegrating a little.
